Fun times with family and friends

I've really neglected this blog the past couple of months, but I still love coming back to it and sharing our lives with everyone. Some highlights were seeing my friend, Leslie Burch, for a day while she was home from Russia. She is a treasure and I'm so thankful for her! The kids and I also took a road trip to Augusta to meet up with some friends I was in Thailand with. Some of them were in town on furlough and I had it in my mind that I was going to see them. I'm so thankful it worked out! It was great to see Shannon, Git, Moe, and meet Kristen for the first time. It was also great to see everyone's children!
Sophie and Isaac always bring joy and fun to our home. They are funny, smiley, creative, and I could go on and on. Being their mom is a great blessing to me! That's us for now! Hopefully I'll have some pictures up from our day outside in the baby pool up soon. Until then....God bless!

Mother's Day....a little late : )

What a difference a year makes! The first picture is Mother's Day last year....the second is this year. I can't believe how much we've all changed. Isaac and Sophie have grown so much in one year's time...and are doing so many new and fun things. Joe and I have both lost weight...Joe, 14 lbs, and me, about 26 lbs. I've definitely felt the Lord change me in other ways, too. I'm thankful that He's helped me to feel more energized, motivated, and encouraged. I also feel very blessed to be the mother of two precious children. Praise be to the Lord!

secret church

On Friday night, Joe and I had the privilege to go to an event called Secret Church. This was at the church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, AL. It was awesome! It was basically 7 hours of worship, learning about the persecuted church in Cuba, and being taught by David Platt, the pastor of the church. When I first heard about it, I thought...6 hours straight of basically listening to preaching?! I'm not sure how I'm going to pay attention that long! But it went about 7 hours and I was totally awake and enjoying every minute of it. God is using David Platt to teach the truth of God's Word to thousands. I felt like God used this time to teach Joe and I about how much we really have...and how much we don't need. So many people in this world are dying from starvation and we're distressed because we're not able to afford a nice vacation, a nice car, or the latest new gadget. It really puts things into perspective. If you get a chance...check this website out. When you watch the video, theres a little icon on the bottom right corner that'll link you to secret church. If it doesn't work, just look up secret church.

God bless!
